Mia Wasikowska’s ‘Tracks’ Heading to Weinstein Co. Following Venice Debut

John Curran directed the Australian movie, which co-stars Adam Driver

The Weinstein Company is in negotiations to acquire U.S. rights to John Curran’s drama “Tracks,” which stars Mia Wasikowska and Adam Driver, multiple individuals familiar with the deal have told TheWrap.

Wasikowska stars as Robyn Davidson, who made her way across 2,000 miles of the Australian desert following the collapse of her marriage and the death of her mother.

Driver plays a National Geographic photographer who bonds with her while on assignment.

“Tracks” premiered in competition in Venice and screens this weekend at Telluride before playing the Toronto International Film Festival next week. Marion Nelson adapted Davidson’s memoir,

CAA is nearing a deal with HanWay Films, which financed “Tracks.”
