Miley Cyrus and Gerard Butler are now among the celebrities who have lost their homes in the wildfires across Northern and Southern California, with the Associated Press reporting that the state-wide death toll has risen to 31 people with 228 more unaccounted for.

Both Butler’s and Cyrus’s homes in Malibu were destroyed, with the actors sharing news of the destruction on social media.

“Completely devestated [sic] by the fires affecting my community,” Cyrus tweeted. “I am one of the lucky ones. My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now. My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family & friends stand strong. I am grateful for all I have left. Sending so much love and gratitude to the firefighters and LA country Sheriff’s department!”

“Returned to my house in Malibu after evacuating,” Butler said in a tweet. “Heartbreaking time across California. Inspired as ever by the courage, spirit and sacrifice of firefighters.”

Julia Roberts has also been forced to evacuate from her home. Other stars affected have included Martin Sheen, Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, Caitlyn Jenner, Rainn Wilson and directors Guillermo del Toro and Scott Derrickson.

The Hill and Woolsey fires started roaring late Thursday evening, affecting the Thousand Oaks, Malibu, Calabasas, Agoura and Hidden Hills areas of Southern California. Two people have been killed in Southern California. In Paradise in the northern part of the state, 29 have been killed in the small town of 27,000 people that has been nearly incinerated, according to AP.

Growth of the fire in Southern California is believed to have largely stopped after destroying approximately 180 structures, with residents returning to their homes Monday, according to AP. As of Sunday night, the fire had grown to more than 133 square miles and was 15 percent contained in Southern California, authorities told AP. AP also reports that more than 6,700 buildings have been destroyed in the Northern California fires.

Many more celebrities have additionally tweeted their support of Los Angeles fire fighters and first responders. Musician Neil Young also lost his home in the Woolsey Fire, lashing out at Donald Trump in the process.
