Miley Cyrus to Play Teenage Private Eye in ‘So Undercover’

Tom Vaughan will direct the action comedy from a script co-written by Allan Loeb and Steven Pearl

Nancy Drew had better watch her back, because there's a new young sleuth in town.

Teen screen queen Miley Cyrus will star in Exclusive Media Group's action comedy "So Undercover," the company announced at AFM on Wednesday.

Cyrus will play a tough, street-smart private eye who is hired by the FBI to go undercover in the one place they're unable to infiltrate — a college sorority.

Tom Vaughan ("What Happens in Vegas") will direct from a screenplay co-written by the dynamite duo of Allan Loeb ("The Dilemma") and Steven Pearl ("The Switch").

Exclusive's co-chairmen Guy East and Nigel Sinclair will produce, along with Tish Cyrus and the writers, who will produce through their company Scarlet Fire Entertainment. Exclusive's Tobin Armbrust will also produce, having initially found the project.

Jodi Zuckerman-Weiner will executive produce for the starlet's production company Hope Town Entertainment, and joining her as exec producer will be Rob Cowan ("The Crazies").

Cyrus' reps at CAA packaged the project with Exclusive, which will produce and fully finance the film, as well as handle worldwide sales at AFM. Production is scheduled to begin in December.

Cyrus recently starred in "The Last Song" and appeared in a cameo as herself in "Sex and the City 2." She next stars oppose Demi Moore in Lisa Azuelos' "LOL: Laughing Out Loud."

Pajiba first reported Cyrus' involvement with the project back on July 7.
