Sports Illustrated model Kelly Rohrbach is set to inherit Pamela Anderson‘s famous red swimsuit, as she has been cast as lifeguard C.J. Parker alongside Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron in Paramount’s “Baywatch” movie, it was announced Monday.

Seth Gordon is directing the movie, which was written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift and will be produced by Beau Flynn, Ivan Reitman, Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Gregory Bonann as well as Johnson and Dany Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions.

Johnson will take over the role of Mitch Buchannon from David Hasselhoff, while his “San Andreas” co-star Alexandra Daddario was recently cast as Summer, the “Baywatch” character made famous by Nicole Eggert in the mid-90s.

The “Baywatch” movie will find the leader of an elite group of lifeguards (Johnson) forced to team up with a hot-shot former Olympian (Efron) in order to save the beach from being overtaken.

Like Kate Upton before her, Rohrbach has been making the leap from model to actress, racking up guest sports on shows like “Rizzoli & Isles,” “Two and a Half Men” and “The New Normal.” She also has a role in Woody Allen‘s next movie.

Rohrbach is represented by WME, Untitled Entertainment and IMG Models.
