‘Morning Joe’ Annihilates Laura Ingraham: ‘We Can’t Have Animals on the Air Attacking Children’

Conservative Fox News host steps in a world of pain after mocking mass shooting survivor David Hogg

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” unleashed fire and fury on Friday against Laura Ingraham after the Fox News host took heat for mocking Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg.

On hand was show mainstay, Donny Deutsch, who suggested Ingraham was an “animal” and that her program would not be long for the airwaves.

“We can’t have animals on the air attacking children,” said Deutsch. “Laura Ingraham told LeBron James to shut up and dribble and Laura Ingraham needs to just shut up and dribble also. She is just a reprehensible human being and the good news here is the advertisers will speak and they will continue. You might see Laura Ingraham saying bye bye.”

Deutsch said that even if advertisers elected to stay with Fox News, they would move off Ingraham to avoid the appearance of endorsing the controversy around her.

So how did we get here?

The conservative Fox News primetime host stepped into a world of pain this week for this tweet, reveling in Hogg’s college applications woes.

“David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it. (Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA…totally predictable given acceptance rates.),” she tweeted, linking to a Daily Wire article which included video of Hogg expressing his disappointment over some college rejection letters.

Many accused Ingraham of cyberbullying the mass shooting survivor, who has become a lightening rod in the gun control debate. Hogg himself waded into the fray, calling for a boycott of Ingraham’s sponsors in this mega-viral tweet below. Within a day at least eight advertisers had dumped the show including, Nestle, Wayfair, TripAdvisor and Hulu.

As sponsors fled, Ingraham offered a full apology on Twitter, but declined to further address the matter on her program Thursday evening.

“On reflection, in the spirit of Holy Week, I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland,” she tweeted Thursday. “For the record, I believe my show was the first to feature David immediately after that horrific shooting and even noted how ‘poised’ he was given the tragedy. As always, he’s welcome to return to the show anytime for a productive discussion.”
