Mika Brzezinski Calls Trump’s Wiretapping Claims ‘Idiotic,’ ‘Embarrassing’ (Video)

“Morning Joe” co-host asks: “Were you lying, Mr. President? Did you make it up?

“Morning Joe” co-hosts Mika Brzezinski thinks President Trump should apologize and declare himself an “idiot” after the Justice Department asked for more time to determine if Trump’s claims that President Obama wiretapped his office have any merit.

“It was an idiotic move,” Brzezinski said of Trump accusing Obama on Twitter, seemingly without evidence.

Brzezinski said people think it’s “ridiculous” and noted the “look of alarm” in the administration’s eyes when forced to describe the situation. She then played a clip of Press Secretary Sean Spicer attempting to “recast” the meaning of Trump’s tweet during Monday’s White House briefing. Brzezinski called the press conference “hard to watch.”

“Were you lying, Mr. President? Did you make it up? Was it some sort of little spurt of activity that you had out of a need to have action? I’d like to know where it came from because it’s a very serious allegation,” Brzezinski said.

Trump unfollowed Brzezinski and her “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough and on Twitter earlier this week. The president now only follows members of his cabinet and family, friendly media organizations such as Drudge Report, conservative personalities such as Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter, and a variety of Trump businesses.

Scarborough and Brzezinski have a bizarre relationship with Trump. They were early supporters and were once accused of feeding him questions during an MSNBC town hall. Scarborough has been spotted at Trump’s Florida resort as a New Year’s Eve party was kicking off; he was also seen clapping for Trump during the recent join address to Congress.

“Morning Joe” has since emerged as a show that is now extremely critical of Trump and his administration. Brzezinski has said that people are “scared,” and famously banned White House senior aide Kellyanne Conway from appearing on the MSNBC morning show.
