‘Morning Joe’ Slams Fox News’ Sean Hannity as ‘Gross,’ ‘Repulsive’

“We are reduced to fake news and Sean Hannity ripping the hearts out of parents for their son, their young, gifted son,” Joe Scarborough says

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough made it clear he doesn’t like speaking negatively about the competition on Friday — that was right before he bashed Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

“We don’t talk about other news networks. We don’t talk about our competitors because, you know, it’s just kind of gross. And we’re supposed to be talking about things that are bigger than that,” Scarborough said.

He then went on to explain why Hannity’s coverage of Seth Rich’s murder forced him to change his ways.

“Now we are reduced to fake news and Sean Hannity ripping the hearts out of parents for their son, their young, gifted son who was shot in the back and trying to twist that into something that somehow helps Donald Trump. It’s gross and it’s repulsive,” Scarborough said.

Hannity has come under fire for continuing to push a conspiracy theory suggesting Rich, who was murdered in Washington D.C. in July, was somehow involved with the WikiLeaks dump of hacked emails belonging to Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Donny Deutch, who was a guest on the show, said he could “speak a little freer” because he doesn’t have his own show to worry about.

“It was despicable what [Hannity] did. It mirrors another time where there was a person who had zero empathy for another family who lost a child. We all know what happened during the election with Trump and the gold star family,” Deutch said. “I think it’s disgusting.”

Scarborough continued: “What type of person does that? I’ll tell you what. A person that has no shame.”

Rich’s family has denied the allegations and Fox News retracted the story.

“Our beloved son Seth Rich was gunned down in the early hours of July 10, 2016, in his Washington, D.C., neighborhood of Bloomingdales,” his parents recently wrote in an op-ed in the Washington Post. “On the day he was murdered, Seth was excited about a new job he had been offered on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.”
