10 Most Outrageous MTV Movie Awards Moments (Videos)

MTV’s pop culture answer to the Oscars has included goofy movie parodies and bizarre acceptances speeches

1993: In a crossover parody of “A Few Good Men” and “The Brady Bunch,” Florence Henderson showed that being Carol Brady is a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom.

1999: After winning a Popcorn for “The Truman Show,” Jim Carrey accepted the award in full hippie getup and asked MTV what we’ve all wanted to ask: “Would it kill ya to play some Foghat?”

2000: Ben Stiller becomes Tom Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible 2” stunt double, Tom Crooze, in one of the most famous parody sketches in the awards show’s history.

2001: More Jim Carrey. Here he accepts his award for his performance in “The Grinch” via telepathy.

2003: The Oscars may never recognize Andy Serkis’ greatness, but he did get a Golden Popcorn for his work as Gollum in “Lord of the Rings,” leading to something Tolkien probably never intended: Gollum cussing up a storm.

2003: Justin Timberlake and Seann William Scott go on a journey through “The Matrix Reloaded,” and Will Ferrell steals the show by lampooning the infamous Architect scene.

2005: Jimmy Fallon did his own take on Anakin Skywalker’s fall to the dark side in Episode III.

2007: During her opening monologue, host Sarah Silverman ripped Paris Hilton on her DUI jail sentence with a joke about how they were going to make things more comfortable for her behind bars.

2007: Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen reenacted their kiss from the end of “Talladega Nights” after winning a Popcorn for it, and ended up adding some extra bits they didn’t do during filming.

2010: Tom Cruise returned to his role as the vile “Tropic Thunder” producer Les Grossman and ran wild over Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and even his past self from “Risky Business.”
