Whitney starts a 5k walk, but has some trouble finishing, in a new sneak peek at the next episode of TLC reality series “My Big Fat Fabulous Life.”
In the exclusive video (above), Whitney and her dad are seen dressed up in penguin costumes as they trek along a race course alongside other merrily dressed runners and walkers, but being as overweight as she is, Whitney soon finds herself struggling.
“People might think that walking a 5K isn’t difficult at all, and for an average guy who’s five-ten, under two hundred pounds, it might not be difficult,” she says in her talking head interview. “But if you took that same person and then strapped 200 pounds to their shoulders, I think that person would have a hard time being able to finish. And that’s the position I’m in now.”
Whitney is seen still trying very hard to go as fast as she can on the race, even as Glenn urges her to take it easy and catch her breath. Just as she’s decided to give up, she sees her mom and her friends with signs and cheers on the side of the course, encouraging her to keep going.
“Something came over me,” she says, tearing up. “I was still in the worst pain of my life but some feeling came over me, and I just kept going and going. I thought to my self, now I have a goal. I’m going to finish this thing, that would be a huge accomplishment. Then it was in my sights.”
“My Big Fat Fabulous Life” airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
