NBCU’s Lauren Zalaznick, Fox’s Jack Abernethy Among New NATPE Board Members

Lauren Zalaznick and Joe Abruzzese are among the newly elected board members

Fox TV Stations CEO Jack Abernethy, NBCUniversal  executive vice president Lauren Zalaznick and Debmar Mercury co-president Ira Bernstein are among new members named to the National Association of Television Program Executives board of directors, the association announced on Monday.

The newly elected members of the NATPE board also include Discovery Communications, Discovery Networks president, advertising sales Joe Abruzzese; Tandem Communications president and partner Rola Bauer; Turner Broadcasting’s senior vice president, head of program acquisitions and content licensing Deborah Bradley; Netflix vice president, content acquisitions Sean Carey; Univision Communications’ president, programming & content Alberto Ciurana; Fremantle Media SVP, program distribution, USA & Canada Lisa Honig; Warner Bros. Television Group president, business and strategy Craig Hunegs; Sony Pictures Television president, worldwide networks Andy Kaplan; and MediaLink president/CEO Michael Kassan.

The 2014 board includes representatives from studio production, digital, advertising, station groups and other corners of the content business in what’s being billed as “the most diverse group that the association has ever assembled.”

“We chose each of these board members because they are at the heart of strategic relevance for NATPE,”  NATPE-Content First president & CEO Rod Perth said of the new board in a statement. “Collectively they will contribute to our growth because they are experienced executives who are successfully managing businesses during this time of enormous change.”
