And we thought it was only hockey players who stopped the game for a fight …

Things got heated between NBA stars Robin Lopez and Serge Ibaka on Tuesday night in a fistfight that will go down for the ages.

Chicago Bulls center Lopez and Toronto Raptors power forward Ibaka were both ejected after the showdown and face inevitable suspension after they threw wild haymakers in the middle of the court.

The brawl broke out with 3:58 remaining in the third quarter of the game, which was eventually won by Toronto 122-120 in overtime.

The pair came to blows when Ibaka snatched a rebound from Lopez, who then attempted to swipe the ball, according to ESPN.com.

While there was plenty of passion behind the punches, few of them seemed to actually land on their target before other teammates and assistant coaches jumped into the mix attempting to pry the players apart.

Needless to say, Twitter had plenty to say about the primetime throw down.
