NBC has ordered a pilot for a new drama series executive produced by “Homeland” executive producer and Keshet Media Group CEO Avi Nir.

The series, currently titled “For God and Country,” would explore the complex world of our military heroes who make personal sacrifices while executing the most challenging and dangerous missions behind enemy lines.

It will be produced by Universal Television and Keshet. Nir will executive produce along with Keshet Studios head of scripted content Peter Traugott and executive vice president Rachel Kaplan.

Dean Georgaris, the screenwriter of films such as “Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life” and Denzel Washington’s “The Manchurian Candidate,” will write and executive produce the pilot.

On Wednesday, NBC announced they would be reviving sitcom classic “Will & Grace” for a 10-episode run that will air later this year. The entire main cast–Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally–will return.

The network also announced on Wednesday that they have renewed freshman drama “This Is Us” for an additional two seasons.

The cast includes Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan and Ron Cephas Jones. Dan Fogelman serves as writer and executive producer with Don Todd.
