ABC gave viewers its first gift of Neil Patrick Harris as the host of the 87th annual Academy Awards on Christmas Day.
The first promo featuring the performer, who is no stranger to hosting award shows, has Harris telling anybody watching that they should ditch traditional gifts this year in favor of him this year.
“Instead of traditional presents, give them the gift of simply telling them to watch me host the Oscars,” Harris says in the commercial.
Harris takes the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Feb. 22 when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences reveals “the best” achievements in 2014 cinema.
