Neil Patrick Harris to Host the Tony Awards — Again

The “How I Met Your Mother” star hosted the Emmys and the Tony Awards in 2009

Neil Patrick Harris is returning to host this year's Tony Awards.

Harris, who plays Barney Stinson on the CBS sitcom, knows his awards shows: In 2009, he hosted the Emmy Awards as well as the Tonys, and the actor-singer-dancer performed the opening musical number at the 2010 Academy Awards. He also hosted the Spike's 2010 Video Game Awards.

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss are executive producers of the show. The two, along with Harris, won a Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Special Class Program the broadcast of the 63rd Annual Tony Awards.

The Tonys will air on CBS at 8 p.m. on June 12.
