Can you binge watch with ruthless efficiency? Then you might have what it takes to become an “editorial analyst” for Netflix, a position that requires the person hired to “categorize television series, specials, and movies” on the streaming website.
But Netflix is looking for more than just a dedicated couch potato. According to the job listing posted by the company, Netflix is looking for someone with five years of experience working in the entertainment industry along with a deep knowledge of movies and TV. You’ll also have to move to Los Angeles to work at the company’s offices in Hollywood.
Editorial analysts will be required to “watch, research, rate, tag, annotate and write analysis” on deadline for the streaming service, and must be able to “distill the essence of a movie/show and share findings in a concise manner.”
If you’re fluent in Japanese, then your chances might be better as Netflix has also opened a second search for an editorial analyst for their Japanese streamers. No word yet, however, on what Netflix is willing to pay someone to voraciously consume and analyze the shows they have to offer.
