In the action-thriller, Cage is forced to return to his law-bending ways after his daughter is kidnapped. Spanish-filmmaker Paco Cabezas will direct the project. Producers said that Cage was heavily involved in his selection, having been impressed with his work on such films as the 2007 horror flick "The Appeared."

Cage's career has endured peaks and valleys in recent years. He received good notices for his off-beat turn as a crime-fighter in "Kick-Ass" (2010), but he's also starred in a number of financial duds, such as the critically maligned "Season of the Witch" (2011) and the barely released "Trespass" (2011).

Production will start in May, 2013, in Spokane, Wash. Jim Agnew and Sean Keller, who previously partnered on 2009's "Giallo," wrote the screenplay.

Hannibal’s Richard Rionda Del Castro will produce in association with North by Northwest Entertainment. Executive Producers are Cage, Patricia Eberle, Richard Salvatore, Mike Nilon, Hayley Magouirk, Jim Agnew, Sean Keller, Cam Cannon, David Milner and Martin J. Barab. Hannibal Classics is handling worldwide sales and is selling the film at the Berlin Film Festival.
