Brian Oliver, formerly of Arthaus Pictures, has joined new production company Cross Creek Pictures as President.
The company says it plans to produce and finance three to five films every year with budgets ranging from $5 million to $100 million.
When dealing with budgets greater than $15 million, the company said it will set a domestic theatrical distribution agreement with a studio.
Cross Creek is in pre-production on its first feature, "Delivering Gen," written by "Sons of Anarchy" executive producer Kurt Sutter. Filming will begin January 2010.
The company maintains offices in Los Angeles, Houston, New Orleans and Memphis. Its slate also includes a Steve McQueen biopic and "Black Mass," about FBI corruption and the South Boston Irish mob, directed by Jim Sheridan.
