Chin up, One Direction fans (and sorry, One Direction haters); the British boy band of the moment isn’t splitting up. At least not permanently.

Following reports that the group is heading its separate ways, the members rushed to social media to reassure their followers that they will be back — but they will be taking a break.

Niall Horan confirmed that 1D is indeed taking a timeout next year, but asserted that the group isn’t “splitting up.”

“Ok so lots of rumours going round,” Horan wrote. “We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year.”

Horan added that the group has “lots we want to achieve.”

“Don’t worry though, we still have lots we want to achieve! Can’t wait for you to hear all the new music we have for you and to perform some new songs as the tour continues! Love you all xx,” Horan wrote to fans.

Horan’s bandmate Louis Tomlinson added on his own account that the group is “not going anywhere.”

“Your support is truly indescribable! It’s just a break 🙂 we’re not going anywhere!!” Tomlinson wrote, adding, “Promise” with a smiley-face emoticon.

Thanking fans for “everything you have done for us,” Liam Payne promised that there’s “so much more to come.”

“Thank you so much for everything you have done for us it’s been the most amazing five years and there’s so much more to come,” Payne vowed. “Can’t wait to put more time into everything we do and coming out with something great.”

The group, which released its most recent single “Drag Me Down” last month, will issue its fifth studio album prior to its hiatus. The band experienced a shakeup in March with the departure of Zayn Malik, who has since signed a solo contract with RCA Records.
