DC Films got an unexpected Oscar as "Suicide Squad" won Best Makeup & Hairstyling. Alessandro Bertolazzi, Giorgio Gregorini and Christopher Nelson accepted the award.

In the snub heard around the world: "La La Land" got passed up as Kenneth Lonergan won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar for "Manchester by the Sea."

In something of a surprise, the Oscar for Best Film Editing went to "Hacksaw Ridge" instead of "La La Land." Editor John Gilbert accepted the Oscar.

Casey Affleck won Best Actor tonight in another Oscar surprise as Denzel Washington was seen as a strong contender.

In the flub heard around the world: "La La Land" beat “Moonlight” for the Best Picture Oscar, only for it to turn out that presenters Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty had read the wrong name. "La La Land" was the heavy favorite going into the ceremony, but the film's producers graciously handed the statuette over when the mistake was revealed. It was an Oscar snafu — and upset — of historic proportions.
