Jimmy Kimmel Asks Absurd ‘Birdman,’ ‘Boyhood,’ ‘Selma’ Questions in Oscar Edition of ‘Lie Witness News’ (Video)

“How do you think Angelina Jolie did as Rosa Parks in ‘Selma,'” the ABC late-night show crew asked

“American Sniper” made more money at the box office than the rest of the Best Picture nominees combined, and Jimmy Kimmel made it very evident that people were completely clueless about the bulk of the nominees with an Oscar edition of “Lie Witness News.”

Before the 87th annual Academy Awards kicked off on Sunday, the ABC late-night host sent a camera crew out on Hollywood Blvd., just across the street from the Dolby Theatre, to ask unsuspecting strangers questions based on fun, fake facts like, “What did you think of the controversial moment in ‘Boyhood’ where they killed the boy right off the bat?”

Or, “What did you think of Helen Mirren’s performance as Cate Blanchett as Judy Dench as Larry Bird in ‘Birdman’? Was it powerful?”

Perhaps the most outrageous was, “How do you think Angelina Jolie did as Rosa Parks in ‘Selma’?”

Like previous “Lie Witness News” segments before it, Kimmel had no problem finding enough people willing to completely make stuff up to sound like informed moviegoers.
