‘Pacific Rim’ Release Date Moved, ‘Hangover 3,’ ‘300’ Sequel Set for 2013

‘Pacific Rim’ will open in July 2013 rather than that May; Warner Bros. also sets release dates for “Hangover 3” and the “300” sequel

"Pacific Rim," Guillermo del Toro's movie about "giant f–king monsters against giant f–king robots," will open on July 12, 2013, rather than May 10 of that year, Warner Bros. said Thursday.

"The Hangover 3" and the sequel to "300" were also given release dates — May 24, 2013 and Aug. 2, 2013.

This all means that the sci-fi spectacular "Pacific Rim" will open against Sony's "Grown Ups 2," rather than against Universal's "Identity Thief."

"The Hangover 3" will open against Universal's "Fast & Furious 6" and Fox's "Leafmen."

The "300" sequel will open against Summit's "Red 2" and Sony's "The Smurfs 2."

Of course, the studios have plenty of time before 2013 to switch the dates again.
