Paramount VP Eben Davidson Adds Acquisitions to Duties

In his expanded role, Davidson will be in charge of acquiring films for distribution as well as remake opportunities

Eben Davidson, a VP production at Paramount, has been made VP Acquisitions and Production, the studio said Wednesday.

"Eben has an innate sense of what we're looking for, both in terms of pictures to pick up, and filmmakers to target," Paramount Film Group President Adam Goodman said in a statement. "We can't wait to see what he does with these new responsibilities."

Davidson began his career at Paramount as an assistant and worked his way up the executive ranks. He most recently oversaw production on "Footloose," "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" and "Jackass 3D."

Before joining Paramount, he worked in marketing at Columbia Records. His first film job was as an assistant to producer Scott Rudin in New York City.

With his new responsibilities, Davidson will report to both Goodman and Paramount's president of production, Marc Evans.
