Goldberg served as a writer and producer on the NBC series “Parenthood” for two seasons, as well as a writer and producer on the short-lived series “Deception.”

In addition to developing new projects under this deal, Goldberg will continue to executive produce her series “The Way” for Hulu, which stars Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan. The show begins shooting this week.

“Jessica Goldberg is an incredibly talented writer, and we’re thrilled to be in business with her at the studio,” Bela Bajaria, president of Universal Television, said. “Her work on ‘Parenthood’ was extraordinary and she created a new powerful drama, ‘The Way,’ for Hulu that has attracted an A-list cast. We are excited to go into production this week and look forward to great things to come.”
