Paul Giamatti, Damian Lewis Clash in Showtime’s ‘Billions’ Footage (Exclusive Video)

Neil Burger directed the pilot for drama that premieres in January

Showtime’s “Billion” is both a glimpse into the lives of the rich and powerful, and a look at the actual power structure of New York City itself, according to stars Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis.

In a new promo for the financial drama, new footage for the series is unveiled, along with Giamatti, Lewis and their co-stars discussing their characters and storylines.

Lewis’ Bobby Axelrod character, a massively successful hedge fund manager, is pursued by Paul Giamatti‘s character, U.S. attorney Chuck Rhoades, and while at the beginning Rhoades is presented as the good guy and Axelrod as the bad, the story will stay away from deciding for the audience who’s right and wrong.

Their power struggle is further complicated by Rhoades’ wife, who works in Axelrod’s company.

Maggie Siff, Malin Akerman, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile and Condola Rashad also star. The pilot was directed by Neil Burger (“The Illusionist,” “Divergent”), who also serves as an executive producer.

“Billions” premieres on Jan. 17 at 10 p.m./9c.
