‘People’s Choice Awards 2013’ Gets January Air Date

Beginning Tuesday, the public can vote online for 15 potential new People's Choice Awards categories

The entertainment-consuming public will once again have their voices heard on Jan. 9, when "People's Choice Awards 2013" airs, CBS — which will broadcast the ceremony — said Tuesday.

The awards show will air live at 9 p.m. ET, with a delayed airing on the West Coast.

Mark Burnett, of "Survivor" and "The Voice" fame, will once again executive-produce the event, which will take place at Nokia Theater L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

"I am so thrilled and fortunate to be once again producing this year's 'People's Choice Awards,'" Burnett said. "Passionate and devoted fans are what make us successful and it is an honor to give them a chance to celebrate their favorites in entertainment."

While the ceremony is still months away, fans can begin having their say beginning Tuesday. The awards organization has opened up voting on 15 new potential categories in movies, music and television, including Favorite On-Screen Romance, Favorite DJ and Favorite Ensemble Cast. The public can log onto PeoplesChoice.com to vote for the new categories, and the top vote-getters will be added for the 2013 show.
