PGA Honors Joss Whedon With Vanguard Award

“Dr. Horrible” creator honored for his achievements in new media.

Filmmaker Joss Whedon, who created the Internet buzz monster "Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog," will be honored with the Producers Guild of America’s Vanguard Award, which recognizes acheivements in new media and technology.

Previous winners of the PGA prize include George Lucas, James Cameron and John Lasseter.

Whedon, whose credits include TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Firefly" and "Dollhouse," will receive his honor Jan. 24 during the PGA’s 21st annual awards show.
