USA star joins TheWrap’s Drinking With the Stars to discuss the upcoming special

USA Network’s longest-running series, “Psych,” takes it inventive storytelling to new heights on the upcoming musical episode airing Sunday at 9/8c.

On TheWrap’s newest episode of Drinking With the Stars, “Psych” star James Roday discussed the challenging timing behind the production.

“There should’ve been a ton of prep,” Roday told TheWrap’s Senior TV Writer, Jethro Nededog, at The Hudson in West Hollywood.

“Part of what made the experience sort of crazy and challenging, but also fun, mad fun as it was, was that we had no prep,” he added.

Roday said that they had a half day with the choreographer, a day recording the songs, and the same amount of prep and shoot time as they are normally afforded for two episodes.

“It was a lot of on-the-fly, sort of trial by fire, let’s just go for it attitude and luckily it worked out,” the 37-year-old said. “It was a big swing, we could’ve missed.”
