Puff Daddy joined the surprise album brigade with the release of “MMM” on Wednesday — to coincide with his 46th birthday.
“I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my birthday than to gift my fans with ‘MMM’ for free today,” Puffy said in a press release announcing he was dropping a free album for fans.
“MMM is a thank you to my fans and it’s just the beginning, a prelude to what will be my final album, ‘No Way Out 2.’
The album is crammed with collaborations with artists from his early Bad Boys days including Lil’ Kim, Jadakiss, Styles P and The Lox. It also includes joints with some of today’s hottest talent including Future, Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, Travis Scott, Ty Dolla $ign, Gizzle and King Los.
The project includes 13 tracks and a video content series featuring behind the scenes footage from the making of the album produced by his other media arm Revolt TV.
In an Instagram post, Puffy AKA Diddy AKA Sean Combs described the project as “a sonic motion picture” and says the music is a nod to his Harlem, New York roots.
“The name of the sonic motion picture is ‘MMM’. It’s the ultimate hustler’s fairytale,” he wrote. “This is for YOU! Listen to it, enjoy it and if you like it… Tell 10 friends about it!”
The “MMM” artwork stems from a 1999 photo of Combs with Kate Moss taken in Paris by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz.
The album is available free on Apple Music, Spotify and SoundCloud.
