Beloved 1980’s cartoon character Rainbow Brite is back in a new reboot by video streaming service Feeln.
The animated series features the voice of Emily Osment as Rainbow Brite, a magical girl who goes on an adventure to protect Rainbowland from dark powers and destruction. Molly Ringwald will lend her voice as The Dark Princess.
Osment is known for her roles in Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” and ABC Family’s “Young and Hungry.”
Ringwald starred in “The Breakfast Club,” “Pretty In Pink” and ABC Family’s “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”
The new series begins Thursday, the same day Feeln will be available on Apple TV, with three new episodes per week.
Feeln is a monthly subscription streaming service and Hallmark’s digital distribution channel created by Academy Award winning producer Rob Fried. The hand-picked content ranges from Hollywood Blockbuster Films to Feeln original content.
“I am very excited to have Feeln join the acclaimed content lineup available on Apple TV,” said Fried. “Now even more people can find and watch great, well-crafted stories that they can enjoy with every member of the family.”
Rainbow Brite was first introduced in 1983 by Hallmark Cards and became a television series from 1984-1986.
