Veteran film and television producer-director Reginald “Reggie” Hudlin will be honored with the “Salute to Excellence Award” by the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA).

Co-producer of the upcoming Academy Awards, Hudlin will receive the honor during the 7th AAFCA Awards ceremony on Feb. 10.

Hudlin was nominated for a 2012 Oscar for serving as a producer on “Django Unchained.” He is also a former president of BET and directed popular films such as “House Party” and “Boomerang.”

AAFCA selected Reggie as the first recipient of the ‘Salute to Excellence Award‘ because of his track record of excellence in the entertainment industry,” say Gil Robertson, AAFCA President. “As a creative force, he continues to provide a great example of advancement for the current and next generation of African-Americans in the entertainment community.”

It was also announced that Entertainment Tonight correspondent, Nischelle Turner, will host the show for the second time.
