Rejoice, Hollywood: Museum of Ice Cream Extends LA Run

DTLA pop-up exhibit attracts industry and stars like Usher, Retta, Kim Kardashian

Museum of Ice Cream

“Hamilton” isn’t the only ticket Hollywood is scrambling to get at the moment.

The Museum of Ice Cream, a lush New York transplant and incredibly Instagrammable pop-up exhibit, has been a bragging right and weekend destination since it opened this spring. The DTLA experience has also been fully sold out.

But cast aside your fomo — a new batch of tickets have been released through August 19.

Social media posts from stars like Retta, Usher, Nicole Richie and, yes, the Kardashian family, have been uploading by the tens of thousands — to say nothing of your industry friends and spin class partners draped across giant popsicles, swinging from a mounted Neapolitan ice cream sandwich or swimming in a tub of sprinkles.

The museum has essentially replaced The Broad’s Infinity Mirrored Room by Yayoi Kusama a go-to photo opp for natives and tourists.

Highlights include a living banana split comprised of ten thousand “bananas”, a mint “grow house” (very California), a room dedicated to Golden State and, of course, the swimmable sprinkle pool filled with an estimated hundred million sprinkles that were custom designed and produced by the museum.

They’re also not discriminating when it comes to ice cream brands. Local gems including McConnell’s, Salt & Straw, Coolhaus x Cuisinart and CREAM will be served in rotation. Additionally, there will be a special mochi ice cream tasting from My/Mo. Dove Chocolate is a title sponsor.
