Ryan Kavanaugh Forms Relativity Middle East to Create Original Local Content

The company has also extended its Middle East distribution partnership with Gulf Film

Ryan Kavanaugh is making a big push in the Middle East, launching Relativity Middle East and extending his company’s Middle East distribution partnership with Gulf Film, the company announced Tuesday.

Gulf Film is the leading film distributor and exhibitor in the fast-growing region, accounting for over 50% of the Middle East’s film releases.

As part of the multi-year agreement, Gulf Film will distribute Relativity’s films across all media in the territory including Relativity produced and acquired titles and third party, sales agency titles handled by Relativity International.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Relativity Media, Relativity Middle East is a new venture will be headquartered in the region and partner with Middle East-based producers to create original local film, television and digital entertainment content.

“Demand for high-quality entertainment content in the Middle East has been expanding rapidly over the past few years. Relativity is committed to building on our already strong presence in the region and to help accelerate growth across the film, television and digital media landscapes,” said Ryan Kavanaugh, founder and CEO of Relativity.
