Ricky Gervais Teases His New Mockumentary ‘Life’s Too Short’ (Video)

Co-created with Stephen Merchant and starring actor Warwick Davis, the “Extras” follow-up debuts on BBC2 in the fall and HBO in 2012

In a teaser video released by BBC America on Wednesday, Ricky Gervais bills "Life's Too Short," his latest team-up with writing partner Stephen Merchant, as "a cross between 'The Office' and 'Extras.'"

We are officially excited now.

Starring Warwick Davis — the actor best known for his lead role in the 1988 Ron Howard film "Willow" and for playing Wicket the Ewok in "Return of the Jedi" — the mockumentary will focus on a fictionalized version of Warwick Davis and his David Brent–style management of a niche talent agency called Dwarves for Hire.

HBO, which is jointly producing with the BBC, announced Wednesday that "each episode will feature cameos by top stars, including Johnny Depp, Sting and Steve Carell, along with Gervais and Merchant playing themselves in minor roles."

The show will debut in the U.K. in the fall on BBC Two and will hit HBO in 2012.
