Grammy winner Ricky Martin will play Gianni Versace’s longtime lover, Antonio D’Amico, on the third installment of Ryan Murphy’s “American Crime Story.”
Production on “Versace: American Crime Story,” which covers the 1997 murder of the famous fashion designer, is scheduled to begin later this month. The season will air on FX in 2018.
As previously announced, the third “ACS” run will also star Édgar Rarmirez as Versace, Penélope Cruz as his sister Donatella, and Darren Criss as serial killer Andrew Cunanan.
Murphy, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson are the executive producers on “Versace: American Crime Story,” which is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.
Martin, who as a singer has sold more than 70 million albums, had previously guest-starred on Murphy’s “Glee.” He’s also performed runs on Broadway in “Evita” and “Les Miserables.”
Currently, Martin can be seen in Las Vegas at his residency in the Park Theater at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. His “All In” show runs through September 2017.
Martin is represented by CAA, managed by Rebecca Drucker and Jose Vega and attorney Garret Glass.
