Sony Pictures dropped the first trailer for “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” on Thursday, and apart from CGI rampaging animals, this reboot looks nothing like the original 1995 hit family adventure that starred the late Robin Williams.
Joe Johnston’s original was about a board game that opened a portal to an alternate, wild universe. The redo swaps that board game for a classic, ’90s-era video game console that transports a group of misbehaving teens into the game itself where they take on alter-ego avatars played by Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan.
Johnson, who recently appeared in “The Fate of the Furious” and “Baywatch,” premiered the trailer on his Twitter account, writing, “I smolder, have cool super powers & try not to cry when I’m scared.”
As Black revealed earlier this month, Jake Kasdan’s reboot will pay tribute to Williams, who died in 2014.
“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” opens Dec. 20. Watch the trailer above.
The Rock Turns 45: His 9 Best Workout Selfies on Instagram (Photos)
Dwayne Johnson is now 45-years-old, but he's far too busy to think about having a mid-life crisis. Somehow, in between shooting and producing blockbusters, meeting fans, making media appearances and paying a visit to his old WWE stomping grounds, he's found time to get in the weight room and lift some 175 lb. dumbbells (or as he calls them, "Kevin Harts.") Here are some of the best photos of those workouts that he's put on Instagram. You're welcome.
