Outspoken actress also claims on Twitter that an ex lover “sold our movie to my rapist for distribution”

Actress and activist Rose McGowan on Friday claimed that an unnamed top Hollywood executive raped her in a series of explosive tweets meant to explain why women don’t report sexual assault.

“It’s been an open secret in Hollywood/Media & they shamed me while adulating my rapist,” McGowan said of the alleged crime, which seems to have taken place around the packaging of a movie deal.

The star did not name the executive or the film project in question — but among the most disturbing of the allegations is that an “ex” of McGowan’s allegedly sold the film project to her attacker.

“Because my ex sold our movie to my rapist for distribution #WhyWomenDontReport,” she continued.

McGowan, who rose to fame in the 1990s in movies like “Scream” and the early-2000s series “Charmed,” also claimed that she consulted a lawyer regarding the assault but was advised against pursuing a legal case because of her history as a film actress who had done romantic scenes on camera.

“A (female) criminal attorney said because I’d done a sex scene in a film I would never win against the studio head,” she wrote.

A rep for McGowan did not immediately respond TheWrap’s request for comment over the identity of the attacker, the film or the former McGowan partner.

She concluded the series of tweets by saying, “It is time for some goddamned honesty in this world.”

Her comments come amid a scandal involving presidential candidate Donald Trump, who has been accused by multiple women of allegedly sexually assaulting or “groping” them.

Trump is still dealing with the fallout of a leaked recording from 2005 in which he openly bragged about being able to grope women due to his celebrity status.
