Roy Moore showed up to the polls on horseback on Tuesday, a stunt that earned some furrowed brows from horse riders on social media.
The senate candidate from Alabama showed up to vote on his horse Sassy, sporting a cowboy hat and boots. Moore told reporters that it’s his tradition to arrive to his polling place on horseback, as he and his wife Kayla did back in September’s runoff election.
However, when Politico shared video on Twitter of Moore riding away, users seemed to doubt that Moore has spent much time riding horses at all.

“I don’t know what good horse riding skills look like, but I’m almost certain it doesn’t look like that,” one user wrote in response to the video, which appears to show Moore struggling to gain control of the horse.
“Yanking its head around is the worst thing to do. Watching Moore bounce around in the saddle with his legs stiffly out is a prime indicator that he either rides rarely or has never bothered to learn how to ride correctly,” wrote another.
The former judge is up against Doug Jones in the Tuesday election to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. He has been accused of pursuing inappropriate sexual relationships with multiple underage girls when he was in his 30s, including by a woman who said Moore molested her when she was 14 and he was 32.

I don’t know what good horse riding skills look like, but I’m almost certain it doesn’t look like that. (Disclaimer: I would look worse riding a horse, but I’d never ride to the voting polls on one either.)
