Sandra Bullock is Hollywood’s First $200M Woman

“The Blind Side” becomes first film driven solely by a female star to cross the box office milestone

Sandra Bullock’s “The Blind Side” became the first film driven solely by a top female star to cross $200 million at the domestic box office, Variety reported Monday.
The football-themed movie finished the weekend with $208.5 million in its seventh week of release.
Other top titles with a female star as the main draw never hit the milestone: Julia Roberts’ "Erin Brockovich" grossed $125.6 million domestically; and Meryl Streep’s "The Devil Wears Prada" did $124.7 in domestic receipts, for instance.
The romantic comedy "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" made more than $240 million in 2002, but starred then-unknown Nia Vardalos.
