“I would never intentionally ‘shame’ any one on any basis,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star writes

Forget the turkey — Sarah Michelle Gellar chowed down on some crow in the run-up to Thanksgiving this year.

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star Gellar has coughed up an apology after apparently offending some people by posting photos of herself in lingerie as a reminder not to overeat on Thursday.

Gellar’s initial post, published Sunday, featured photos of herself clad in black lingerie. (Us Weekly said they were from a 2007 Maxim photoshoot.)

“I’m just going to pin these up all over my house as a reminder not to overeat on Thursday,” Gellar wrote, adding the hashtag, #thanksgivingprep.”

While the vast majority of comments displayed support for the actress, some people took issue with the post, leading Gellar to clarify in the comments section that she did not intend to fat-shame anyone.

“It’s come to my attention that some people think I was ‘fat shaming’ with this post. That could not be further from my intentions,” Gellar wrote.

“I love Thanksgiving and unfortunately my eyes are often bigger than my stomach, and I tend to eat so much I make myself sick. This was a joking reminder to myself not to do that,” the actress added.

Gellar concluded, “I’m terribly sorry that people were offended by my attempt at humor. Any one that knows me, knows I would never intentionally ‘shame’ any one on any basis. I am a champion of all people.”
