Scott Baio took to Twitter Sunday to acknowledge the death of his one-time “Happy Days” love interest, Erin Moran, who died Saturday at the age of 56.

“May people remember Erin for her contagious smile, warm heart, and animal loving soul. I always hoped she could find peace in her life. God has you now, Erin,” he wrote. “My sincere condolences.”

Baio and Moran played iconic young lovers Joanie Cunningham and Chachi Arcola in the classic sitcom of the ’70s and ’80s, “Happy Days.”

Although he joined the show three years into her 10-year run, in essence, they grew up together, with his mini-Fonzie ‘tude always crushing on her spitfire character.

When Joanie and Chachi finally became a couple on screen, Baio and Moran’s popularity soared.

Their characters became aspiring singers and were spun off into their own (short-lived) series, appropriately titled “Joanie Loves Chachi.” In the “Happy Days” series finale on May 8, 1984, Joanie and Chachi were married.

Moran died Saturday afternoon in her Indiana home. Cause of death has yet to be determined; an autopsy is pending.
