Zoey Deutch is joining the apocalypse.

The star of Netflix’s hit rom-com “Set It Up” has joined the cast of Sony Pictures’ sequel to the 2009 apocalyptic comedy “Zombieland.”

It is unknown what role Deutch will play, but she joins the original cast featuring Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson and Abigail Breslin.

In “Zombieland 2,” our original four heroes will have to face off against various new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.

Ruben Fleischer, who directed the first film, is returning to the director’s chair, after helming another big blockbuster for Sony — the Tom Hardy-led “Venom.”

Fleischer is teaming up with original “Zombieland” writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who worked together on both “Deadpool” movies.

The film is set to begin production in January. Gavin Polone returns as producer; Reese and Wernick will also executive produce, with Lauren Abrahams overseeing the project for the studio.

It’s expected to be released in October 2019 — the 10th anniversary of the first film.

Deutch is represented by CAA and Gilbertson Entertainment. She will appear in Ryan Murphy’s new TV comedy “The Politician” and recently wrapped shooting on “Buffaloed,” in which she stars as Peg Dahl, who, in the underworld of debt collecting, will do anything to escape Buffalo, New York.
