‘The Shannara Chronicles’ Title Sequence Teases Epic Battle Ahead (Video)

MTV series is based on YA novels by author Terry Brooks

MTV released the opening title sequence for “The Shannara Chronicles” on Tuesday.

Set thousands of years in the future, the series follows three heroes, Elf-Human hybrid Wil (Austin Butler), Elvin Princess Amberle (Poppy Drayton) and Human Rover Eretria (Ivana Baquero) as they embark on a quest to stop an evil demon army from destroying the world.

The show open features visuals from the series’ post-apocalyptic world harmonized with artist Ruelle’s song “Until We Go Down.” The show is based on the fantasy book series by Terry Brooks.

“The Shannara Chronicles” will debut with a two-hour premiere on Jan. 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT immediately following the return of “Teen Wolf,” at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
