Shannen Doherty has revealed that her cancer has spread.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actress shared that her breast cancer has made its way to her lymph nodes.
“I had breast cancer that spread to the lymph nodes, and from one of my surgeries we discovered that some of the cancer cells might have actually gone out of the lymph nodes,” Doherty told ET. “So for that reason, we are doing chemo, and then after chemo, I’ll do radiation.”
Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. Her battle with the disease was made public when she sued her former business management firm after her health insurance lapsed, TMZ reported.
After revealing that she had a single mastectomy earlier this year, the 45-year-old actress also said that the scariest part of her cancer was not knowing.
“Pain is manageable, you know, living without a breast is manageable. It’s the worry of your future and how your future is going to affect the people that you love,” said Doherty.
Earlier this month, the actress shared emotional pictures of herself shaving her head.
“It’s easier to live with cancer if I know I’m helping at least one person,” said Doherty.
