The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that 15 films have been selected as semifinalists for a visual effects Oscar on Friday. In early January, members of the Academy’s visual effects branch executive committee will narrow the list tof semi-finalists to seven.
Nominations will be announced on February 2.
