“The Simpsons” is taking on Showtime series “Homeland” in the 25th season premiere episode on Sunday.
Fox’s animated staple will open with a credit sequence spoofing the opening to “Homeland,” an Emmy-winning drama starring Claire Danes as a CIA officer with bipolar disorder who believes a U.S. Marine (Damien Lewis) was “turned” while being held captive by al-Qaeda, and now threatens the United States.
