Sony Classics has scooped up North American rights to Michael Haneke’s “Amour” from Films Du Losange.

Stefan Arndt, Veit Heiduschka, and Margaret Ménégoz produced the film with Austrian co-producer Michael Katz. It is the third Haneke film Sony Classics will distribute in the U.S., following “Cache” and “The White Ribbon.”

“American audiences are in for a moving experience,” Sony Classic said in a statement.

Warner Independent distributed the American adaptation of Haneke’s “Funny Games” in 2007.
