Stephen Colbert thinks everyone should get a chance to express their views: even an anti-gay, anti-atheist Colorado state senator who performed an exorcism on President Obama.
Colbert profiled newly elected Colorado state lawmaker Gordon Klingenschmitt, who strangely held a pitchfork during a campaign ad as a way to express his desire for a positive campaign.
The lawmaker’s checkered past then ran on screen, featuring clips of him ranting about the “demonic spirits inside the homosexual agenda” and the “atheist complainer.”
“I have a solution! Let’s do an exorcism and cast the devil out of them,” Klingenschmitt said about the pesky atheists.
The Colorado politician also ran an exorcism on the president, claiming demonic spirits are “using the White House occupant” to oppress.
“Yes, Obama is possessed by a demon, and he won’t even show us his birth certificate,” Colbert concluded. “Yes, now that the bruising campaign is over, Democrats should join Klingenschmitt in a reasonable discussion about whether or not Barack Obama is possessed by a demon.
