Stephen Colbert Welcomes Back Jon Stewart, Plays Catch Up on Miley Cyrus, Syria (Video)

“John Oliver did a fine job, but as people on this show know, I find it morally reprehensible to get news from someone with an English accent”

Stephen Colbert returned from his summer vacation Tuesday with a lot to catch up on.

First on his list? Welcoming back good buddy Jon Stewart, who returned to “The Daily Show,” Colbert’s lead-in, the same night.

John Oliver did a fine job, but as people on this show know, I find it morally reprehensible to get news from someone with an English accent,” Colbert said.

The “Colbert Report” host spent his own break in Italy, eating himself half to death. While overseas, the comedian did his best to understand American news from a foreign tongue.

“From what I could make out, President Obama wanted to drop Miley Cyrus on Damascus,” Colbert surmised. “I believe that’s a war crime.”
