Stevie Wonder Tries to Drive James Corden During Carpool Karaoke on ‘Late Late Show’ (Video)

Fortunately for other drivers on the road, the blind singer left his license at the hotel

James Corden welcomed Stevie Wonder into his camera-riddled luxury SUV on Monday for the CBS host’s lengthy commute to work.

The newest “Carpool Karaoke” segment started off a bit awkwardly though, as the blind Wonder was defiantly perched in the driver’s seat. After a little negotiating from a nervous Corden, Wonder realized he left his license back at the hotel anyway. Tragedy averted, as the duo switched seats.

The guys dubbed themselves The Wondercats, and then went through some of Stevie’s best known tunes. They also spent an awful lot of time on their iPhones, with Wonder Facetiming several people and Corden asking the R&B legend to do him a big favor.

The eager-to-please Wonder was game in calling Corden’s wife Julia, singing a personalized version of “I Just Called to Say I Love You.” That won the “Late Late Show” host a ton of brownie points from his fangirl wife, he admitted.

“Carpool Karaoke” has been pulling in some big stars. Wonder joins the likes of Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Iggy Azalea and Rod Stewart with A$AP Rocky, all of whom have performed from Corden’s passenger seat.
