A new teaser for the upcoming “Ghost in the Shell” trailer that will debut during Super Bowl LI features Scarlett Johansson tearing across a futuristic city guns blazing.
Based on the iconic anime series of the same name, the film follows the Major (Johansson), a cyborg working for the counterterrorist organization Section 9. Her unit is tasked to bring down the Puppet Master, a sentient virus program that has the ability to “ghost hack” into cyborgs and take over their bodies, hence the title of the film.
The film adaption, directed by Rupert Sanders (“Snow White and the Huntsman”), came under fire last year for the casting of Johansson as the Major, whose name in the anime movie and TV series is Motoko Kusanagi. The furor was about Asian characters being whitewashed with white a
